Meta Launches Muse AI Agent for Personal Tasks
Meta introduced Muse, a new personal AI agent designed to handle everyday tasks for users.
"Meta's new AI agent, Muse, wants to run your life. Big bet on trust, but if it works, say goodbye to your to-do list."
Meta has launched Muse, a personal AI agent aimed at assisting consumers with daily tasks and projects. This new offering represents Meta's significant investment in consumer AI, following a recent settlement regarding social media's consumer harms. Muse is designed to operate by connecting to users' various apps and services, including email, calendars, payments, and health applications.
The AI agent is powered by Meta's AI model, Muse Spark, and is capable of actions such as sending emails, booking travel, and making purchases. It will initially be accessible via the web at muse.ai, through iOS and Android apps, and within WhatsApp chats, with future integration planned for Meta's AI glasses. While free to use initially, Muse will offer subscription plans, Power at $20/month and Maximum at $100/month, for increased usage.
This move positions Meta in the evolving landscape of agentic AI, competing with offerings like OpenClaw and Instinct. The introduction of Muse also brings to the forefront questions about user trust and privacy, as the agent requires access to a broad range of personal data to function effectively.
For businesses, Muse represents a shift towards AI agents that actively perform tasks, potentially changing how consumers interact with services. This could influence strategies for app integration and customer engagement, requiring businesses to consider how their offerings can interface with such AI platforms.
