Google's New AI Agent 'CC' Manages Households
Google's 'CC' AI agent now helps families coordinate emails, schedules, and tasks for household management.
"Google's 'CC' is stepping up to organize your chaotic family life. Get ready for an AI that actually helps with chores, not just search results."
Google has refocused its 'CC' AI agent to assist families with household coordination. This updated AI agent allows families to share emails, schedules, and tasks, enabling 'CC' to manage calendars, fill out forms, create shopping lists, and plan meals. The move follows user requests for more household management features.
'CC' now operates with its own Google account, allowing collaboration with up to six family members while maintaining specific data access permissions. Users can forward emails to 'CC' or automate sharing from selected senders like schools or travel companies. The agent can also track important dates, add them to shared calendars, and manage tasks such as filling out permission slips or planning weekly meals.
This experiment is currently available to U.S. users aged 18 and up with a personal Gmail account. Existing 'CC' users will receive invitations to upgrade, while new users can join a waitlist. The agent runs on an isolated cloud computer, powered by Gemini and Google’s Antigravity agentic harness.
This development offers businesses a glimpse into the evolving landscape of AI-powered personal assistants. Companies may need to consider how such agents could impact consumer behavior and data sharing, potentially influencing marketing strategies and product integration opportunities.
