Fireworks AI, the AI inference platform founded by former PyTorch engineers, is in active talks to raise a new funding round at a $15 billion valuation — a dramatic leap from the $4 billion post-money valuation it carried after its $250 million Series C in October 2025. Bloomberg and Reuters both reported the talks in late May 2026.
The company's growth trajectory justifies the jump. Sacra estimates Fireworks AI hit $315 million in annualized revenue by February 2026, up 416% year-over-year. Its customer base surged from roughly 1,000 companies at Series B to more than 10,000 by October 2025, with marquee names including Cursor, Perplexity, Notion, Uber, Shopify, and Samsung. In March 2026, the company expanded its infrastructure footprint by acquiring Hathora, a gaming-grade container orchestration platform operating across 14 regions and four cloud providers.
The potential valuation signals that the AI inference layer — helping enterprises deploy and run models efficiently — has become one of the most contested and valuable positions in the AI stack. Fireworks AI, backed by Lightspeed, Sequoia, NVIDIA, and AMD, is racing to own it.
