Nvidia is providing up to a $105 billion guarantee for an OpenAI data center in Ohio. This investment includes $1.5 billion in SB Energy, the data center developer linked to SoftBank and OpenAI. The guarantee ensures that Nvidia will be the sole supplier of compute infrastructure at OpenAI’s PORTS-Pike Technology Campus in Ohio.
The Ohio data center is projected to scale from an initial 4.25 gigawatts to 8 gigawatts. OpenAI has committed $164 million for Ohio programs in connection with this project. The facility will exclusively host NVIDIA AI compute, according to the NVIDIA Newsroom. SB Energy's existing investors include SoftBank and OpenAI.
