Anthropic Files for IPO Near $1 Trillion as Cybersecurity Push Expands

Anthropic filed confidentially for an IPO at a $965 billion valuation while expanding its Project Glasswing cybersecurity initiative to 150 new organizations.

Insta's take

"Two AI giants racing to trillion-dollar IPOs in the same year. The AI gold rush isn't slowing — it's just getting a stock ticker."

Anthropic filed confidentially for an initial public offering on June 1, 2026, targeting a valuation of approximately $1 trillion following a $65 billion funding round led by Altimeter and Sequoia at a $965 billion post-money valuation. The company's annual revenue run rate surpassed $47 billion in early May, up sharply from $30 billion in April and $9 billion a year prior. Claude Code alone crossed $1 billion in annualized revenue within six months of launch, and over 1,000 customers now spend more than $1 million annually on Claude — a figure that doubled from 500 in under two months.

Simultaneously, Anthropic's Project Glasswing cybersecurity initiative expanded to roughly 150 new organizations across 15 countries, covering power, water, healthcare, communications, and hardware sectors. Partners include AWS, Apple, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorganChase, and the Linux Foundation. On June 8, data security firm Cohesity joined as the latest participant. The program's Claude Mythos Preview has identified more than 10,000 high- or critical-severity software vulnerabilities since launching in early April.

Fortune projects Anthropic will join SpaceX and OpenAI as a trillion-dollar public listing in 2026. OpenAI itself raised $122 billion in March at an $852 billion valuation and is also preparing an IPO, setting up a landmark dual listing that would reshape the AI investment landscape.

Why Insta thinks this matters

Anthropic's rapid revenue growth and trillion-dollar IPO trajectory signal that enterprise AI spending is accelerating far faster than most forecasts predicted. For executives, the 1,000-plus million-dollar customer milestone confirms large-scale AI adoption is no longer experimental. Project Glasswing's expansion into critical infrastructure means AI-driven cybersecurity is becoming a board-level procurement priority across every major sector.
