Adobe Integrates Firefly AI Assistant Across Creative Cloud Apps

Adobe is rolling out new AI assistants to its Creative Cloud suite, including Photoshop, Premiere, and Illustrator.

Adobe has begun integrating its Firefly AI assistant into its major Creative Cloud applications, including Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign, and Frame.io. These new AI assistants are launching as part of a public beta and are designed to organize work and automate app-specific tasks within each program. Each AI assistant, powered by Adobe’s "conversational creative agent," operates independently as a specialist within its respective Creative Cloud app.

The AI assistants offer a chatbot-like interface, allowing users to describe desired changes using natural language prompts. For example, the Premiere AI assistant can reorganize video timelines, rename clips, and add markers based on speech, while Photoshop's version can organize layers, switch backgrounds, and resize assets. Illustrator's assistant supports multi-step production jobs like flagging errors and generating design versions, and InDesign's can apply print-readiness checks and update styling across layouts. Frame.io's assistant can surface revision feedback and organize assets.

This expansion follows the earlier launch of an AI assistant for the web and mobile versions of Photoshop. Adobe's creativity head, David Wadhwani, stated that this represents a significant expansion of Adobe's promise to be at the center of creative work, providing every creative with an agent to assist across various apps and platforms.
