I'll be honest: Later's AI features feel like they were bolted on because every marketing tool in 2024 needs to mention AI somewhere in their pitch deck. But here's the thing—I've been using Later for eight months, and I genuinely don't care that the AI is mediocre, because the core product is so damn good at what it actually does. This is a visual planning tool first, and everything else second.
Later is excellent at what it was originally built for—visual social media scheduling, particularly for Instagram. If that's your primary need and you value aesthetics and ease of use over cutting-edge AI, it's worth every penny. But if you're buying it expecting robust AI content creation or deep analytics, you'll be disappointed and should look elsewhere.
