Twitch Chief Product Officer Mike Minton acknowledged the community's sentiment, stating on a livestream that if the option were opt-in, "nobody would opt in." The company framed the change as adding an opt-out setting rather than announcing content usage. Users can opt out through their channel settings under the security and privacy tab.

This move highlights ongoing concerns within the creator community regarding the use of their content for AI training without explicit consent. The default opt-out mechanism has led to worries that content may be used unknowingly, impacting creators who rely on their content for monetization.
