OpenAI Rolls Out ChatGPT Health to All US Users

OpenAI has made ChatGPT Health available to all US users, allowing integration of personal health data.

OpenAI has rolled out ChatGPT Health to all users in the US, making the feature accessible to individuals across all plans. This allows users to connect their medical records and health-tracking information to the chatbot. The company had been testing this feature since January through a dedicated hub, and it is now available to all U.S.-based users over 18 on the web and iOS this week.

Users can integrate personal data from services such as Apple Health, Function, and MyFitnessPal, as well as medical records from hospital systems like Epic and Oracle Health, and health platforms like One Medical and Function Health. OpenAI noted that health-related queries have increased from 230 million weekly during testing to 300 million. The company's smallest model from its latest release, GPT 5.6-Luna, reportedly outperforms GPT 5.5 on the HealthBench evaluation, an open-source benchmark for health queries.

Despite these advancements, OpenAI maintains that its services are "not intended for use in the diagnosis or treatment of any health condition" and advises users to verify information and seek professional medical advice. The company states it does not use user data to train its models and works with physicians to improve health query responses. This rollout comes amidst a lawsuit against the company regarding a health-related suggestion.
