Paris-based AI voice startup Gradium has secured $100 million in seed funding, with Nvidia participating as a new investor. This funding round follows Gradium's initial launch out of stealth in December with $70 million from investors including FirstMark Capital, Eurazeo, DST Global Partners, Eric Schmidt, and Xavier Niel.
The company plans to use the newly acquired capital to establish an office in the Bay Area. This strategic move aims to attract talent and strengthen Gradium's presence within what it describes as the world's leading AI ecosystem. Gradium, which spun out of French AI lab Kyutai, specializes in developing AI voice models designed for ultra-low latency, enabling almost instantaneous responses in AI agent conversations.
Since its December launch, Gradium has reportedly secured major customers, including French auto manufacturer Renault. The company faces competition from other voice AI startups and established model makers, but its recent funding and expansion plans indicate a strong push to gain ground in the competitive AI voice market.
