Emergent Achieves Unicorn Status with $130M Series C Funding

Indian AI coding startup Emergent raised $130 million in Series C funding, reaching a $1.5 billion valuation.

Emergent, an Indian AI coding startup, has successfully completed a Series C funding round, securing $130 million. This investment has propelled the company to a $1.5 billion valuation, officially designating it as a unicorn. The funding round was led by Creaegis, with participation from new investors MNI Ventures-Claypond and Sentinel Global, alongside existing backers Khosla Ventures, SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed, and Y Combinator. This latest round brings Emergent's total funding to $230 million.

The startup has reported an annualized revenue run rate of $120 million and serves over 200,000 paying customers. Emergent focuses on providing AI coding tools for entrepreneurs and small to medium-sized companies, offering a platform that handles deployment, hosting, testing, and debugging. The company's customer base includes businesses in trucking, manufacturing, construction, and property management, with North America and Europe each contributing approximately one-third of its revenue.

Emergent plans to utilize the new capital to accelerate product development and research, particularly in improving application success rates and core AI agent workflows. The company also aims to expand its go-to-market operations and is considering opening an office in Europe due to significant customer traction there. Emergent currently employs about 200 people, primarily in Bengaluru, and intends to expand its San Francisco office by 30 to 40 individuals by year-end.
