Apple has launched HomeView, its first smart display for the home.
"Apple's finally here with HomeView! This smart display could be a game-changer for your smart home setup. Get ready for some serious home tech upgrades."
Apple has launched HomeView, a smart display for the home. The HomeView is Apple's first smart display, arriving after multiple reports indicated the company was working on such a product. The device features a screen atop a speaker base.
The HomeView is described as a Siri-powered device with a display and an A18 chip, allowing control of other smart home devices. It will reportedly be available in two models: one for countertops and another for wall mounting. This launch marks Apple's most significant push into the smart home market to date.
This new product follows Apple's previous smart home efforts, including its HomeKit software framework and HomePod smart speaker. The HomeView aims to provide a dedicated smart display experience for users within their homes.
This launch signifies Apple's renewed and more substantial commitment to the smart home market. Businesses in the smart home ecosystem should monitor how HomeView integrates with existing devices and services, potentially influencing future product development and partnerships.
