Anthropic IPO Nears, Targets $2 Trillion Valuation
Anthropic is reportedly nearing its IPO, with a mid-October launch and a $2 trillion valuation.
"Anthropic's IPO is coming, and it's going to be massive. $2 trillion? That's a serious bet on AI's future."
Anthropic is reportedly close to awarding Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs top roles for its upcoming IPO. The AI giant's public offering is now expected to launch toward mid-October, with some reports indicating a target valuation of $2 trillion. This follows earlier reports of a $15 billion revolving credit facility and credit line, which were seen as teeing up the IPO.
In related news, AI compute provider Nscale, which recently struck a $45 billion deal with Anthropic, is seeking $3.5 billion in pre-IPO financing. Nscale is reportedly looking to sell $1.5 billion in convertible notes and an additional $2 billion in financing from Nvidia. Nscale had previously secured a $1.1 billion Series B funding round in March, led by Aker, and a $155 million Series A round in December 2024. Nscale has reportedly told potential investors of approximately $103 billion in projected revenue following the deal with Anthropic.
Anthropic's IPO is anticipated to be significant, though Morningstar highlights potential risks and challenges for investors to consider. The substantial valuation and the involvement of major financial institutions underscore the high expectations surrounding this public offering within the AI sector.
This IPO could significantly impact the AI market, setting new benchmarks for valuation and investment in the sector. Businesses should monitor the performance of Anthropic and its partners like Nscale, as it may signal future trends in AI infrastructure and enterprise AI adoption.
