Aina Launches Smart Ring for AI Agent Control

Aina unveils a smart ring designed to control AI agents with taps and gestures.

The startup Aina has announced the Aina Ring, a smart ring designed to serve as a remote control for AI agents. Apoorv Shankar, who previously served as vice president of hardware at Ultrahuman, believes this device will streamline interactions with AI by allowing users to approve or reject tasks without needing to access their phone. The ring features a small display and a joystick-like button for quick interaction, aiming to eliminate the “bottleneck” of frequent phone use for AI agent pings.

The Aina Ring connects to Macs or iPhones and learns user routines from personal data like location, calendar, and email. It can suggest actions such as continuing a podcast, playing music, or ordering an Uber, which users can accept with a flick of the ring. Users can also create custom “Aina Cues” using natural language. The ring supports third-party services and allows connection to preferred AI agents like Muse or Instinct. Preorders are currently live at $399, with the price increasing to $499 when shipping begins in January 2027.

Beyond approvals, the Aina Ring includes “Aina Voice” for quick interaction with AI agents, note-taking, and a tiny speaker for phone calls. The company explored other form factors like smart glasses and pendants before settling on the ring for its convenience. Aina had been in stealth for 15 months, previously showcasing experimental products under the name Project Mirage at CES 2026, including a precursor called Dune.
